Wrappit terms and privacy

Last updated September 29, 2026. These add to the benjiapps Terms and Privacy Policy.

It's free

Wrappit is free to download and use, with every feature, on as many computers as you like. There's no trial, license key or account. Please don't sell copies of Wrappit or pass it off as your own. The notes Wrappit writes are yours and can be shared freely.

Privacy

Wrappit runs on your computer. It has no telemetry, sends nothing to benjiapps, and stores its notes as Markdown files inside your repository. Its settings (like your list of projects) are kept in your user settings folder.

The only time Wrappit sends your code anywhere is wrappit fill, which sends the files it's writing notes for to the AI you choose (the Claude Code or Codex app on your machine, the Claude or OpenAI API with your own key, or a command you name, such as a local model). That AI provider's own terms apply to what you send it.

What Wrappit changes on your computer

In a repository where you run wrappit init: a .wrappit folder with notes, git pre-commit and pre-merge-commit hooks, a rules section in AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md, and hooks in .claude/settings.json. wrappit deinit removes all of it (notes too with --delete-notes).

wrappit setup adds a rules section to ~/.claude/CLAUDE.md, ~/.codex/AGENTS.md and ~/.gemini/GEMINI.md and a start-up hook in ~/.claude/settings.json; wrappit setup --undo removes them. wrappit save makes git commits (and pushes only with --push); wrappit create --github creates a GitHub repository. Wrappit's settings live in your user settings folder.

No warranty

Wrappit is provided as is. It checks that each changed file's note was updated before a commit; it can't check that a note is correct. Keep backups and use version control as you normally would.
